WHAT NOT TO DO IN PUBLIC TRANSPORT (Part II)

What not to do?

Blocking the passage with your foot to begin with.

Showing us the sole of your sneakers is ill-mannered, as well.

I’m sorry to say, but we, as a society, might need to revisit some basics.  Why not read « Le petit guide de la civilité montréalaise » published last month? http://ici.radio-canada.ca/emissions/c_est_pas_trop_tot/2014-2015/chronique.asp?idChronique=367973

Reading comments included in the above link, has been interesting, quite a few are relating to situations taking place in public transportation. Then, it comes as no surprise since the STM, Société de Transport de Montréal, has been conscientious in promoting good manners and civility inside their bus through small and good humoured ads.

The campaign is seen by more than half-million users per day.

Which makes me wonder:  Is it the campaign that has repercussions on people noticing the lack of manners in bus or metro? Is it the interest people have in the topic that puts pressure on the STM to edict some behavioural advice in their ads?

Coming back to the two obvious weak manners shown in the picture, blocking the passage is not nice and not appreciated when a passenger needs to exit the bus speedily. Showing the sole is an insult in an intercultural context.
